Peters was a stalwart of the buoyant German domestic series of the early fifties driving his trusty two-seater Veritas.

Mostly he just seemed to make up the numbers, but he finished third in the 1953 Formula 2 race at Grenzlandring - a well-supported meeting marred by the accident in which Niedermayr's car ran into the crowd with such devastating consequences.

The sports-bodied Veritas was put to good use in the 1953 Nürburgring 1000 Km, when Josef and Wolfgang Seidel took fifth place overall and won the 1500 cc-2000 cc class.
